Yaknow, there's something about Storm that I can't quite put my finger on :|a He taunts other competitors but he didn't get physically violent up until the race with Cruz so like.. I don't necessarily see him to be as bad as Chick who got physically violent (with the intention to cheat) from the start (not poopin on Chick btw, he has his.. charms) but saying this makes it feel like I'm an apologist but that's not it :|a Feels like the word's at the tip of my tongue but idk what it is :'D

I know what you mean, anon! Storm’s got this je ne sais quoi. I haven’t for the life of me been able to pin it down, either. ‘Cause like, you could argue that he undercuts competitors in private and plays nice when there’s cameras around, but I think that’s an oversimplification. There’s more to it than that–BUT HOW TO DESCRIBE. He has no camera-ready pretensions of being nice. Even his public interactions are meant to undercut. But at the same time, they’re nothing at all like Chick’s style. 

Storm is like… well, to quote what for all we know is Storm’s favorite movie, Paris is Burning: “Shade is, ‘I don’t tell you you’re ugly, but I don’t have to tell you because you know you’re ugly.‘” ;P

Idk where I’d place Storm and Chick on the “badness” scale. (It’s hard to think within the Cars universe because out here in ours, I love ‘em both! XD) Obviously crashing The King was no bueno, and a little ridiculous given there were only three cars on the track, lol. It was so blatant. And Storm’s move against Cruz probably cost him the win rather than being a calculated action in order to secure it, so there’s another moral wrinkle. BUT.

At the same time, a good number of extremely popular, renowned NASCAR drivers (I’m thinking Dale Earnhardt Sr., but here’s a more complete list of someone’s Top 20 Most Aggressive NASCAR drivers–which funnily enough also includes Richard Petty and Darrell Waltrip!) have made their careers on playing aggressive. It isn’t exactly outside the sport. It it clean? No. Respectful? Uhhh, haha. Welp. But hey, I ref soccer, not NASCAR. What do I know!
